‘Telling it how it is’ no matter who you hurt- is not a skill.
In fact, it’s the opposite of a skill.
It’s like dropping a palette of bricks from a crane and calling yourself a bricklayer.
The skill is in ‘telling it how it is’, honouring your own values and what you believe to be true without ham-fistedly tearing down someone else’s reality.
If you truly believe in the message, then how you deliver it is secondary.
If you choose the path of the provocateur, without any consideration of the uptake of the message- you’re just massaging your own ego.
If you want to build a wall that will last, lay the bricks carefully, deliberately and with consideration for the foundations you’re laying them on.
A very small minority of people respond well to having a tonne of bricks dropped on them, but those people will quickly help you to build an echo chamber.
